Studies have showed that daily intake of 50 mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid produced no specific side effects. Once the daily intake rising to 100 and 600 mg for 3 weeks to 6 months, there was evidence of low toxicity appearing in four different human studies. If people keep taking 500mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid per day or more, they will have slight blood glucose lowering effects and some allergic skin reactions. However, there is no evidence of mutagenicity, teratogenicity, or carcinogenicity.
